Care for the Caregiver
A Support/Supervision Group For Those in Healing Vocations
Often individuals in care-giving vocations and ministries feel the burden of emerging burnout, yet face the cultural and social expectations that such care-givers have little or no need to care for themselves.
This bi-weekly group is designed for therapists, clergy, nurses, teachers, lay counselors and others in care-giving ministries who recognize that the cultural norm and expectation of emotional self-sufficiency is unrealistic and unsound and who wish and claim their right and need for support for their own lives.
While the group often assists in deepening the understanding of the dynamics of the helping relationship, it is not just a supervision group. The purpose of the group is to support the care-giver in his or her own healing journey as it expresses itself in the care-giver’s psychological, relational and spiritual life.
